Thanks for the flower share.  Those are some beautiful flowers.  Digital painting on the iPad is taking on a life of its own, from what was said in the Tech Talk.  I can see where the retina display large iPad is a very good tablet to paint on. 

One thing I never thought of but works out very well, is if you're painting on an iPad and you just can't get the look your going for, save your painting and load it into a photo app that has filters.  Apply a filter or two and see if you like it.  Sometimes you yet the affect your looking for.
