I have the sidebar Menu turned on and I used to have the Add Folder option but now it is gone. Only Add File to Library is showing. I wonder if iTunes got corrupted somehow and that's why this option is no longer available. I clicked on the tiny box in the upper left corner and that's where this is located. Should I look someplace else?

That "add folder" option is not gone -- you simply have to turn on the
menus. I know I did it but can't remember how. Probably right-clicking
opens up a menu that has that option.
All I know is that it's possible to show the older menu structure, which
includes the "Add Folder" option -- I know because I just did it a
couple of weeks ago.
