you put the book on a pillow that's in your lap...there's never a reason you have to "hold" a book or an ipad in the air, whether in a car, in bed or riding in a car...thus the copious discussion about how much ipads weigh versus kindles versus other devices is unnecessary...
You may be shaped differently than me, but laying an iPad or Kindle on a pillow in my lap, while in my LaZBoy, the screen will not be pointing anywhere near my face.
Please do not make broad generalizations (like "there's never a reason you have to "hold" a book or an ipad in the air") when there have already been several people stating that they do, in fact HOLD these devices while reading.
