is there a video anywhere (for instance on youtube) where this is demonstrated?...i don't understand how it's possible to expand the size text on a page and not exceed the margins of the page when the original page fills the screen...don't get me wrong; i think it's great but i can't get my senior citizen brain around how it works without seeing it.

Sent from my iPhone 5when the mini displays a full page the text is rather small, so you have to enlarge the text in order to comfortably read it --- but then you don't have a full page anymore!...this means you have to adjust the image from side to side to read...isn't this awfully burdensome?...am i missing something?

When the Mini came out I got one and love it as well. Now I usually use the iPad 3 like a laptop, the laptop like a desktop, the Mini for reading at night and for easy carry when going somewhere. And my iPhone for when I need a phone and don't want to carry / devices. They all sync (except the laptop and I will upgrade to Apple soon).
I prefer the Mini, over even the Nook Color because the iPad can do so much more and so easily.
