He's charismatic so some people think him stealing is OK? It happens but is a sad statement about humanity. Because the artists don't get enough it's OK to take what little they are due just so he can screw the big companies? Doesn't work for me. The police are held to strict letter of the law but he isn't. How convenient for him.

He is a resident, so we are not harbouring him, and he is innocent till proven guilty. He is also charismatuic, many quite like him actually, despite being clearly guilty.
The issues here that are wrong is that he was raided illegally, by the Police here at the request of the FBI.
Interesting stuff. the argumentys I agree with over piracy. others who favour illegal downloading say that the artissts actually get very little, its the big few that reap the money, and they work hard to keep entertainment media off the internet so they can cream it. Truth to those arguments. The big few media conglomerates like Sony BMG, etc are not living in the modern online world

Wy would NZ want to harbor a thief? Intellectual property is no different than physical property IMHO. How many books would be written, movies produced, etc. if they weren't protected? Stealing is illegal and immoral.
