| iPad movies made on the iPad 4 are rather spectacular - clear and crisp. Being a huge fan of Sony Vegas and Sony Architecture (to make DVDs) I want to bring the very high quality iPad movies into my Windows PC so I can process them there doing things like splicing, editing, adding music etc. etc. etc. I have been searching for a way to bring iPad movies into a PC and have found at least 4 PC possibilities via Google but they are all failures quickly crashing. Also lots of chatter but nothing of value. I did attach and email myself an iPad movie but the result looks extremely poor very very fuzzy - it came as a .MOV file which of course is the name of the container and I did find a program on the Internet that looks inside to see which codec was used to make the file and it looks like: Format: AAC, Mono, 44.100 kHz H.264, 801 x 451 Millions Movie FPS: 30.00 Playing FPS: 30.00 Data size 4.23 MB Data Rate: 788.58 kbits/sec Duration: 00:00:45.04 Normal Size: 568 x 320 pixels I am still investigating the details of what an AAC H.264 file is, but, the normal size specified of 568 x 320 suggests that it is low quality. It would seem to be a reasonably easy matter to write an app which would find the beginning and ending memory locations of any iPad movie (maybe via consecutive GETS) and write that original data out via an output stream to iTunes or iCloud or whatever. One could then reverse engineer the data to produce a video for the PC that would be as clean and precise as the movie looks on an iPad. I called AppleCare tech support 800-275-2273 and spent some time with a qualified person who could not find an app which would give good results. Nor did they know of any work in progress. They did open a problem ticket with case number 379850557 and they promised to let me know if they run into anything.
