But, the iPad is to my mind, not a laptop replacement for real work.It's primarily a consumption device, and for real work, on the run, you can use it, just not as ideally as if you had a laptop on the run.
You can work on Office docs using iWork or Quick Office Pro for example. Its just not that ideal on an iPad. But you can do it.

I am very curious to see the Win 8 Pro tablets that are coming out.

I use my MacBook Pro laptop as my main computer. But it would be nice to have a portable alternative that has a screen that folds back on itself to be used in tablet mode or perhaps a detachable screen.

For me it is not about the storage but about the ability to do REAL work.

Looks like we share the same ideas and have the same computers.  But, also I have an Asus Yoga 13 and an Acer W700.  In a nutshell, the Acer W700 is a keeper and blows everything away, just not happy with the included BT keyboard since it doesn't attach physically, but no big deal.    However, it hasn't replaced my iPad/iPad Mini as a "couch" device.  PM me if you want more info.  Having used OSX for the last four plus years, I am a bit hesitant to do much surfing, but most productive things are done in Windows.
