With 4G LTE it's finally possible to have your office in your pocket. There's a huge difference between 3G and 4G - much faster. It's liberating.
For many of us, cloud computing would not be very practical as there are times when there is no signal either wifi or 3g due to being in a rural area. I guess it would be fine at home on the wifi but we aren't always at home. On Thanksgiving I visited inlaws who live in the boonies, no Wifi and no cell signal of any kind but I was still able to use my iPad with aps and show pictures and play games and read.

The hardware requirements for a full operating system and applications complete with internal storage, ports and slots may very well remain impossible for any tablet without sacrificing the size and weight which makes the iPad so attractive. If cloud computing can be made secure enough for most business uses it could be the ideal solution.Cathy
Sent from my iPad That is as it stands today.
Ultimately, iPad would become the interface device to the cloud and all computing will be in the cloud.

In a nutshell, the Acer W700 is a keeper and blows everything away, just not happy with the included BT keyboard since it doesn't attach physically, but no big deal. However, it hasn't replaced my iPad/iPad Mini as a "couch" device. PM me if you want more info. Having used OSX for the last four plus years, I am a bit hesitant to do much surfing, but most productive things are done in Windows.
