I'm not sure what you mean when you say you can't change text size. I am in my sixties, and I have the text size cranked way up in all my ebook apps. I also like it that you can lighten and darken the page and text to increase contrast.
What program do you use that you can't change text size?
Also, you can organize books more easily in iBooks than the Kindle app. I have several collections. One of manuals for my programming job, one of general reference, and one of "just for fun" reading. And you can customize the categories, to keep books in a series (like the Liaden Universe Books or Honor Harrington) together and in order.
