SureWest, in my area has FIOS. My housing project has the conduit in the streets but the fiber needs to be run. We're pretty close to the SureWest office but they decided to start running the fiber in the low rent areas first. 2 years ago I was told my area was slated for 3 years from then. A year later SureWest discontinued the project. They ran out of money for the upgrades. At least that's their story.

FIOS is a Verizon service, cableTV, Internet and phone. My daughter has it and it's really fast! I don't think anybody beats it.
