I feel they will get closer, Apple can release more capability that has been dare I say it, restricted or. limited or controlled. How much of that is choice from the past or not I dont know
The Android users/fans here can perhaps draft a list of the things missing from iOS, I'd like to see them, I dont think I suffer from missing anything

Each have their place. I like Wild West in real life. Walled garden in computing. No. Correction. Walled garden in computing devices I rely upon. Wild West in computing machines I compute on. I don't compute much anymore.
