Hi all. I'm a complete newbie to iPad's. I searched the group for this but didn't find the specific topic. Is there a jailbreak for iPad 2 running iOS 5.1, tethered untethered or semi tethered?
Thanks for any help.

[iPad] Jailbreak iOS 5.1 iPad 2
Re: [iPad] Lock rotation?
Somehow I have locked rotation on my iPad 3. I have the little button on the side set to mute, not lock rotation , plus changing it doesn't help. Anyone tell me how to change it back?
Go into settings in general & change it

LOL! I should have added that I turned it all off when I reached one of the many, typical NYC traffic jams! The setup, of course, was done while I was still parked!

[iPad] Re: Can't modify Verizon data account through Settings?
This conversation seems strange to me. I have the new iPad, Verizon version. When I hit Settings, Cellular Data, View Account it calls up a form where I fill in the usual info required for ordering something, including billing info.
When I finish with that, it gives me the options to 1) turn off cellular data to restrict all data to Wi-Fi, 2) enable LTE, 3) turn off data roaming, and 4) to create a PIN for the SIM card.
So it looks as though I can do everything I need to do from settings.
I haven't tried it yet, so maybe I'm wrong.

When Verizon finally got an app it just made it easier to check data usage and pay my bill. If I decide to change plans I'll just call them up.

[iPad] GPS navigation with no connection
I had no idea that the GPS navigation apps would work without being connected to the Internet!
Yesterday, while leaving the city, I turned on my cellular service and set up a navigation app to direct me to the nearest entrance ramp to the FDR Drive. When I reached the highway, I turned off my cellular service, turned the iPad off, closed the cover and put the iPad away. Imagine my surprise when about 5 minutes later I heard the app pipe in to tell me the next turn to make! It continued to direct me all the way home.

[iPad] Re: Lock rotation?
Settings>General; the choice for mute or lock rotation is near the bottom of the page.

Re: [iPad] Lock rotation?
Hmmm. Double press the home button and see the icons at the bottom of the screen? Swipe those to the right and there should be an iPod (music) control, Volume and a button icon on the extreme left.
Changing it doesn't help? Change it back?I'm confused. What do you want changed, since you apparently know how to change the side button from lock rotation to mute? (That's under Settings.)Whichever the side button is not controlling is accessed by double clicking on the Home button and dragging your finger from left to right on the bottom portion of the screen. You'll either see a lock/unlock button or sound/mute button on the bottom left side of the screen.
Re: [iPad] Lock rotation?
Thanks, that was it. I must have hit that when I was messing around trying to get my sound to work on the Audubon Birds app, which by the way was just a loose nut on the controls. (I actually had the mute slider on, I thought when it had a red dot it was on but that means it is off. Apparently some apps will still make sound with it muted so I thought it was not muted but not the birds app.

Re: [iPad] Lock rotation?
Change the setting back to Rotation and make your adjustment. Then switch back. See if that helps.

Re: [iPad] Can't modify Verizon data account through Settings?
Cool. Same number is on their website. Dunno if my only phone which is an AT&T iPhone will charge me stupid for the minutes, most likely not much. Yes, it is worth getting a bit PO-ed over. Why VZ can't let me be a big girl who pays her own bills decide to do something a certain way to me... is insulting. Usually setting up an account is quite easy, but VZ is being VERY difficult.
I understand but it's not worth getting so upset over. Everything you described can be done over a phone in the meantime.
Here's the number again 1-800-922-0204

Re: [iPad] Can't modify Verizon data account through Settings?
**did** Incidentally, anyone who knows me knows I do not see well. Being with a visual impairment, I guess I am picky about wanting things to work a certain way. It is also frustrating when I try to do it 'their' way and still have things muck up.
How odd.... when I had the 3G iPad on AT&T it *sis* in fact allow me to make changes to my plan, enter a new CC# etc. Oh, yeah.... like I just did on my guys' iPad AT&T. Settings>Cellular Data>View Account> Add more data> CC verification code.On Apr 30, 2012, at 6:19 PM, Jerry Elkins wrote:
