Do you have an app on your iPad for editing/viewing excel and doc
files? If you do, you should be able to tap the "send to/open in" icon
(the one with the arrow which curves up and to the right out of what
looks like a box) which should then list any/all apps you have which can
open that type of doc.

I use DropBox for transferring lots of documents from my computer to my
ipad, and iWork.com for others.

Regarding the "holographic keyboard" for the iPhone5 -- it also has a
moon-pony that comes with it!
