I had said in a recent post that the screen can be repaired. I had mine repaired and it was as good as new afterwords. Google for cracked iPad screen repair. This is a routinely done repair by apple certified repair groups. I did mine by sending it in and they shipped it back to me. The closer to your home would be the least shipping cost. It cost me about $200 for everything.
IMO it's better to pay that than have a cracked screen.

Have an opportunity to pick-up an iPad2 with a broken screen. Is it possible for me to replace the screen or will it require a trip to an Apple repair facility?
