Re: [iPad] Moving video from camera to IPAD - Linda

You asked how to get the video from your camera to your ipad.

Since I haven't been able to figure out the itunes thing I got around that by emailing the file to myself as an attachment.

Do you know how to transfer the video file from your camera to your computer?

Try this:
Copy the file from the camera to your desktop.  Let's say it's "Grandbaby.mov".

Assuming you have already downloaded and installed Handbrake, open that up, Click on source and select Grandbaby.mov
On the right side of the screen, click on IPad (under Apple) so it will convert to the proper format for the IPad
For the destination, to make it easy to find, just Browse and click on Desktop.
Click on Start (arrow in green circle at top) the conversion will instantly start.  It won't take very long...at least for a short clip.
That's all there is to it.
Look for the the m4v "Grandbaby.m4v" on your desktop, write an email to yourself, and attach the file (assuming it's not over the maximum size for your email provider)

Open up your email in the ipad and click on the attachment - it will take a while to load.  Click on it again and it will automatically open and fill the screen.

P.S.  When I first installed Handbrake it kept stopping when I tried to use it.  I rebooted and that solved the problem.
