This is what I thought BUT I had a few doubts because some have said they like one Mahjong better than some others.  I thought maybe there were some bigger differences but that is not the case.

Another big difference is in the number of different tile layouts which
each program comes with.  Some have lots more than others.  I only ever
play the traditional layout that I first learned to play with, so that's
not important to me, but it might be very important for others.

A third big difference is that some (Midnight MahJongg comes to mind)
allow the player to use a multi-finger gesture to rotate the board to
get different viewing angles while other mah jongg apps don't allow that.

Other than that, they do play the same since the object of solitaire mah
jongg is to match pairs of tiles until the board is cleared.
