I expect to be replacing an existing phone on AT&T shortly.
I expect to go to my local Apple Store, buy the iPhone using Apple's iPhone Upgrade Program, pay monthly payments to Apple, and simply swap the nano-SIM out of the old iPhone and into the new one, and then follow the on-screen directions on the iPhone to activate it.No visit to an AT&T Store at all.
Of course, Ewing your same service would hardly be a problem. But what if you did that then a few weeks later wanted to change to Verizon? Could you just buy a new SIM?

Doing something like that simply is not on my horizon, so I haven't looked into it.
I would think it should work.
