I have an old Bootcamp partition with Windows Vista on it. I bought VMware Fusion and it was able to "grab" that partition to run Windows live from the Mac side. Since then, I've upgraded to Mountain Lion and Mavericks with no problem. I'm typing this from OS X 10.9.1 right now. Fusion and Parallels are really just apps. They don't affect OS X any more than Photoshop, Dropbox or World of Warcraft.
When something comes crashing down, I'd suspect corrupted data on a hard drive that's going bad, or bad RAM, or something like that. Here's hoping the Geek Squad techs can save your data and swap in whatever has gone bad!

It has been with the Geek Squad at best buy for 3 days.... has anyone else had this problem or am I the only one that has mac issues.maybe i should just use my old pc for my work stuff and not use parallels.Your thoughts?
