When I moved my notes from "on my iPhone" to "iCloud" I had to copy and paste one note at a time. Once they were all copied to the "iCloud" account I then erased them from the "on my iPhone" account. I haven't used the On My iPhone account since then.

Hmmm, I did not know that and I never looked on my Yahoo email account for my (lost) notes. They are all there. How do I get them back in the Notes app? Can they be synced back? How? I will change the settings to Only My iPad when this is completed.pat h - oh

Notes are saved based on what you have selected in Settings/Notes/Default Account. Also, what you have turned on in Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars determines what syncing is happening and combined with the Notes default account setting determines where your notes are saved. (Of course if you're syncing to Outlook through iTunes on a computer, that can create another set of issues.)If you don't want to sync Notes with other iDevices, then I would make the default account "On My iPad".BTW, I've synced notes with Gmail, iCloud, and Yahoo accounts without issue.
