Thanks, Pete. My notes haven't disappeared yet, but when they do I will know where to look.

I copied this from the User Guide. This is the same problem I had a little over a year ago, I didn't know there was more than one account."Create a note in a specific account. Tap Accounts and select the account, then tap . If you don't see the Accounts button, tap the Notes button first.Choose the default account for new notes. Go to Settings > Notes.See all the notes in an account. Tap Accounts at the top of the notes list, then choose the account."Excerpt From: Inc, Apple. "iPad User Guide For iOS 7." Apple Inc., 2013. iBooks. This material may be protected by copyright.PeteI do not sync any notes from my iPad Air. It is turned off for the Notes App. Got any other suggestions?
I have searched Apple Forums and am finding that depending upon the Apple Note App to hold notes is a disaster waiting to happen. The problem goes back to early 2013 apparently and I am finding no fix.
If anyone sees a fix, please speak up.
