I don't think I understand your issue correctly because I am working on an iPad Air, on a Yahoo email digest, and am having no problems at all deleting and retyping text, fortunately, since I make a lot of mistakes lol
I have many Yahoo groups, and I have never had the problem you describe.
I adore my iPad Air!!!

One last, why can we not attach things when emailing on an iPad air. I think my mail icon at bottom screen on iPad air is connected to yahoo. How did it become default email an not Apple Mail on an iPad air?
