I used Windows from the beginning and became proficient in Windows Networking. I switched to Apple three years ago. Glad I did, BUT. I am familiar with Apple Networking, but far, far from proficient.
So my question for the network pros. I have a IMac, MacBook Air, two IPad's, Windows Laptop, Epson 835 wireless printer, Epson 4530 wireless printer on my network. I use a Apple Airport Extreme to connect all together. I also have a Ubiquity WiFi Booster Antenna I use in our coach in RV parks if needed. So I bought a Apple Time Capsule for the house. All is well. The reason for the purchase was to install the Airport Extreme, Epson 835 wireless printer and the Ubiquity Antenna in the coach so moving them back and forth wasn't necessary. Except they would not work. The MackBook Air saw the Apple router. Saw the Epson 835 printer, but would not print. I finally wired my home DSL to the WAN port on the Apple router. All is well. Remove the internet connection and the printing error returns. Has to something with ip address assigning I think.
Any ideas? Do the devices need to come online in a specific order. Epson says I don't need a internet connection to print to their printers wireless. I agree, but I still have the error.
