I disagree the MacBook Pro Retina is 'long in the tooth' it is super fast a great Mac OSX machine.

Nothing wrong with PC games, I've just never been a gamer (except for
Solitaire, especially when on tele-hold); and now with the iPad if I do want
to play, that's where I'd do it. :-)

Maybe I'll change in another year or two.

Or maybe I'll add a Mac to my stable -- the Air is too small (storage), the
MBP is long-in-tooth, so I'm waiting to see what comes out in the next few
months. Idea would be to use it as the entertainment-computer, although it
really isn't "necessary".

But at the moment I don't have the energy to deal with new stuff,
adjustments, etc.

I know there are always tweaks "under the hood" and Windows8 hasn't
disappointed me in that regard -- my Win8 computer boots up much faster
than my Win7 computer did.

And regarding how Win8 looks, I simply click to the old-fashioned
desktop -- one single mouse click and I'm in very familiar territory
without the Win8 tiles.

I'm not trying to convince you to change to Win8, but there was a lot
more to this upgrade than mere eye-candy. An old Microsoft golf game
from 2003 (Links for those who might have played it) didn't work well or
predictably under Windows Vista or Windows 7, but it works like a charm
under Windows 8, so something was changed that wasn't just eye-candy.

And one of the neat things about this marketplace is that people can do
just as you've done and still have a great computing experience, or they
can do as I've done and also have a great computing experience.

Now if I only had the money to buy a Mac and all the software I would
need, I'd be a happy camper because I'd have my feet in both major sides
of this marketplace and wouldn't have to worry. :-)
