Re: [iPad] New Mini and iPad--When?

With Facebook it's been simplified. Once apple really getting into the game it'll be fun to watch. FaceTime needs to morph into the phone icon. Default to voice only calls and switch to FaceTime or a teleco call on the fly with no user intervention needed.

One problem, Telco's. One day all plans will be just data, but not for a while. But modernites can do what you suggest with Skype etc, but for many thats geeky and too hard.

I see it as a good idea that I hope they are working on lest Facebook or Skype get too much adoption   In regards to apple being able to get a leg ahead.

iMessage, yes. Thats popular though. If they do that with the phone that would be awesome. I could call you and it only costs me 3.65MB

I think the 4 will be the small cheap one maybe the 4s and that for a while these are to be the two screen sizes apple offers. The coup would be to actually get ip telephony to take off with an app,e branded app that bypassed the couriers to make calls. Yea. I know iMessage. But it's not taking off. They need one like iMessage that uses the phone icon and does the wifi or telephony Change seamlessly.

My mistake that was sposed to say 2 phones. I agree fully with your comments, limiting models works. Production costs, setting up machines with one size, works. hard to imagine the costs in having 6 models, eek. Smaller set of products, yes, perfect. I just see that the 2 iPad sizes works as the market likes and buys both, same with phones now.

But it's a difficult and not largely profitable supply chain. Limit options. That's apple. Push forward change but not with a gazillion models. That apple was the unprofitable apple of the mid nineties. Jobs brought them back to profitability with a smaller set of products.
