I can't imagine how someone would choose a phone at WalMart without researching it first. Appearance, maybe, or price, or salesperson's recommendation. Appearance - look and touch and fit - are important, of course, but if they don't have an Uncle Kris, it would be like choosing a car without driving it.
Consumerism is crazy. Someday, I hope, we'll move away from a hundred kinds of breakfast cereal. Apple's doing that for me - they make a tablet or a computer or a phone and I buy it.
