"Rebooting" simply means cycling the power. Hold down the power switch (on the top right edge - little black button) until a white arrow in a red box appears on the screen with the words "slide to power off". Slide the arrow to power off your iPad. Wait until all screen activity has ended, then wait five seconds more, then hold down the power switch again, this time until a white Apple logo appears, then let the switch go.Rebooting also kills off all background processes, so you don't need to worry about that. Not quite how Apple describes it:Restarting your device
- Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
- Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
