I agree. And I'd like it to remember my preferred route instead of its preferred route when offering routes.

One thing I'd like in either Google maps or Apple maps or both is the option to choose no freeways. The Garmin GPS has a mode that will route you around freeways. I liked that. I saw more back roads that way.\\ /\ Alice.( ). Sent from my iPad miniNone but I've been using both and they both suck in some regards. Try to drop a pin where you are not at in apple maps. Heck I don't think I even found the pin on google maps. Google earth yes but that's not google maps.
Sent from my iPadI downloaded the Google Maps app and was trying to use the Google Maps GPS for directions instead of the Apple Maps, using Siri. Here is what I found:
If I ask Siri for directions to an address, it automatically opens Apple Maps. I could ask Siri to open Google Maps, which is does, but I have to manually enter the desired address. If, with Google Maps open, I ask Siri for directions, it then opens Apple Maps and uses that for directions.
What I have read is if I want to use Siri and Google Maps, I have to ask Siri for directions to a location, ending the sentence with "via transit". Siri opens Google Maps, as well as all other transit choices (bus, etc.). From there, I choose Route on Google Maps, and select the Car icon for directions by car.
I tried it and it works. I wasn't sure if everyone was aware of this but I thought I would share it.
Is there an easier way to do this, or is this it?
Tony
