Our govt has this fetish with gathering money. Motorcycles are a danger and a a risk in accidents, so they decide for the greater good to charge more fees to cover hospital care. A 50cc is I think free. under 250cc is quite cheap, over that is huge. So, as I ride a big bike, safely and responsibly, I am targeted to pay for the stupid people who are a danger to themselves and others. They also raise tax on cigarettes and alcohol, now I have no issue with that, but it tends to be the annual tax increase for the Govt coffers, than a direct transfer of funds to hospitals to fund smokers issues. Again, sensible drinkers pay for the non sensible.
Noise is no issue, so I in fact save fuel costs for myself so I can spend more in the economy, I take up little room on parking, and I save on pollution. And I pay more for all that. Hoons on bikes are no different to hoons in cars. (A hoon is kiwi talk for loud, fast, unsafe drivers)
