If it won't make waffles properly, change the definition of waffles to something it will make well.  Politicians do that all the time.

Jim, I have waffles almost every morning.  If my iPad or MBP could do that, I would be thrilled - one less gadget to travel with.

I have discovered that my Apple devices were simply not intended to make waffles. Or do a lot of other things.
So I don't try to do those things.
