Hi Pete:
In casey you haven't had success yet, I had to do that when I bought my new iMac. It was quite difficult, as I recall, and I had to get Apple tech help by phone. Some of my music had been put in iTunes via CDs. And iTunes on my new Mac seemed to pick up only the music that I bought after acquiring the computer.
So Apple techs had me put the music on a flash drive and then plug the flash drive into the Mac. Worked like a charm.
Sorry for taking so long, and you probably already solved the problem.
