The sync takes a while so I didn't want to run it unnecessarily.
I'm happy with the apps that are on my iPad currently so don't want iTunes to sync apps. But do want songs that are on my laptop to be on my iPad. It sounds like iTunes has to sync in order to save settings.
I'll have to go the route you suggested then, Kris. Thank you.

=I'm not certain I understand the fear. Your content that's not on iTunes will be transferred to iTunes. Then it'll apply the changes. Then you unselect music. Then you make sure the correct apps are checked to be on the iPad. Then you sync. It erases the music off the iPad and adds the applications. If it misses one goto the app store or iTunes app lookAt previous purchases and click install. It's free. Hope this helps!!~KLM\,,/ 01001100 01001111 01001100 \,,/I'm an app junkie so am running out space on the iPad. The last time I connected my iPad to iTunes to sync songs, it returned an error saying there wasn't sufficient space all the apps.
So, I'm trying to turn off the iTunes 'Automatically sync new apps' as a way to not sync the apps portion. When I close iTunes, it tells me that I've changed the settings for the iPad and asks if I would like to apply my the changes.
If I choose 'Apply', iTunes says the settings were not saved because the iPad could not be found. That's true because I didn't connect the iPad since it can't finish the sync due to low space.
Is there a way to save iTunes settings without having to sync or connect the iPad?
Thanks.
