Most likely so, I did not hear them called anything but ladders makes more sense considering the steep angle!

Aren't they called ladders instead of stairs. The USS Hornet has them. That is an aircraft carrier at what use to be the Alameda Naval Station, here in Northern CA. I've toured it twice.

I know the Navy guys just grab the handrails and slide down but not possible for this older person! I know that is how the Navy guys do it because my son was in the Navy.
