My own thoughts:
I'm on an insulin pump. This helps me manage type 1 diabetes. I see most every year the 'next best pump' to come out, and 9 out of 10 times it doesn't happen. Between FDA being very, very slow and money, Pharma monopolies or whatever, there's only ONE 'new pump' shipping in august. It still does the same as others, but the display is brighter, has a touch screen and looks like something Apple designed. I would love to try the t-Slim if I can get my insurance to play along.
In basic reality, these new pumps are simply the same tech in a shiny new package.
All will help you in managing diabetes if you use them responsibly.
I started on these devices back in 1994-5. Had I just kept waiting for the 'latest & greatest', I would STILL be on 6-8 shots of insulin a day.
Yes, there is a difference in a pump and an iPad, one being a medical device, the other being a useful touch-screen computer, but we need to step back from rumors/news of the next best thing. Enjoy what works for you now and later if the next tech is something you can't live without, sell yours and get a new gizmo. :-)
*I* am still waiting for that automatic, driverless car that's fueled by "Mr. Fusion" <G>
