That only works if you have an iPad2 -- those multi-finger swipes don't
work on iPad1, even with iOS5 installed.

Remember, if you swipe with only one finger, then your turning the page in iBooks, but if you swipe with 4 fingers you can see one or the other without having to double tap the home button.
