Re: [iPad] Re: Apps from old to new iPad, how??

Let me try to answer.

Be sure you use the same computer to sync your ipad with. To determine this is; if you plug in your ipad and open itunes, and click on your ipad under Device, then go to the Apps Menu. There you will find a Box that has to do with sync Apps. Sorry, I'm not near the computer right now, not exactly sure the exact description on the box that is check marked.

If the box is check marked, then you have the right computer that us use to backup, and sync apps with.

The next step is, to sync all your purchased apps. Right Click on your ipad under devices in itunes then select sync purchased apps.

After that's done, right click again on your ipad under device and select backup.

The backup is the important part because this will save all your settings how your ipad is for example: the layout of your Home Screen with folders and your saved games scores, documents in GoodReader, your Mags you downloaded from Zinio.

After the backup is done, plug your new ipad in and do a restore from your backup. To do this, the first thing that iTunes will recognize is you have a new device and will ask you if you want to set it as a new device or restore from backup. Do restore from backup and select the backup you just did which should be named as the old ipad name.

Just wait, it will transfer all your games, apps, and other important stuff as well as saved score games and that's it.

Hope that helps, because that's just the only way to transfer without loosing your saved game scores.

Perfect!  One more thing:

My son has pretty much mastered all the levels of Angry Birds on this old iPad.  When I sync and put everything on the new iPad, will his scores be there or will it be a "new" app with an empty 'save' file?
