And mp4. I have videos as mp4 files that work fine. (I hate suffixes btw. They suck. I miss the days when that crud was embedded into the file instead of needing an archaic suffix) anyway...

The iPad recognizes *.m4v movie format. Handbrake converts it for the iPad.
