No source, just personal experience.  You are correct, though. I should not have presented that statement as fact since I have not verified it. When I started working as an office clerk for a temp agency 15 years ago, every person who sat at a computer or typewriter could touch type. These days, half the secretaries or administrative assistants I have observed while visiting an office do not seem to be touch typing. They are looking from the document they are typing from to the keyboard and then to the screen.  Anecdotal evidence at best, I realize that.

can you cite a source or is that speculation? because if so, i would like to read than analysis, it sounds like an interesting phenom to go with "schools are not teaching cursive any more"
