Re: [iPad] About ready to take the plunge

Especially with finite storage space in the device, always buy the
maximum amount of space you can afford, so the 64GB size is in my
opinion the best way to go. Wi-fi and 3G is also the best way to go
because with the 3G even if you don't have a data plan you can still use
the iPad as a GPS device.

As for the covers, that's really a personal issue -- I'm not so sure I
like the idea of the smart cover. I've seen it on a friend's iPad2 and
I wasn't impressed. If the lip of the cover gets pried up just a bit,
the device turns on and so if that happens when you put it in a bag for
carrying you won't know until you're at your destination whether the
battery's been drained.

As for where to buy it -- check your local stores first. The more
expensive devices are the ones which are more likely to remain in stock
longer because people just investigating a new device often go for the
least expensive version first. Call Best Buy or Apple Store and see if
it's in stock -- if it is, go buy it there. If it isn't, order it
online. It really doesn't matter where you buy it from as long as you
get it. But if my friend's experience is any indicator, don't order it
through a local Best Buy store -- he ordered it, then found out they had
his model in stock but wouldn't hold one for him as the one he ordered,
telling him "it isn't the one you ordered -- that's still on its way."
So he walked in, bought the device off the floor and still hasn't been
called by Best Buy to tell him "his" iPad2 is in ready for him to come buy.

Enjoy -- you're about to enter a wonderful new world!

So, I don't know if this is everything, but it should be a good chunk and I doubt it will sync all those old podcasts to the ipad. So, with about 20G (-7G) of data, here's what I chose:
