That's what I tried. Had to reset my cable modem to get it working again!  All is well now.

Have you set your iPhone to FORGET your wiFi network,  then rebooted…and set up your local WiFi all over again?

I'm having the same problem with my iPhone.  The iPads, my Kindle, and my husband's iPhone and iPad have no trouble whatsoever with our WiFi connection, but my iPhone 5, even after asking for (and getting!) the password, just won't connect to our router or extender.  It says, Unable to Connect.  Dismiss.  I have reset the network and restarted the device several times, to no avail.  My question now is:  is it worth resetting the iPhone to the factory settings and starting all over from a backup?  Is the WiFi connection likely to work then?  Or is it more likely that the iPhone is somehow defective?  Any thoughts?

Have you tried Settings — General — Reset — Reset Network Settings ?
