The problem is probably at the server side. My laptop gets the same message sometimes. I had to quit using Yahoo mail for similar reasons, it just wasn't reliable.

Curious as to what causes your ipad to suddenly "not connect to server".
I have had it happen before, but now it seems more frequent.
I do a hard reset and then it goes along and today, some 7 days later,
does it again.
My other question, since the last reset, it seems mail sent to me from
an ipad
user goes to my icloud account rather than the email address they
originally used.T
his never happened before, I rarely used the icloud account.
Seems the mail stopped being downloaded yesterday morning around 8am.
The only other thing is I haven't taken the ios7 update for the ipad, am
trying to avoid it if possible.
