RE: [iPad] Wifi not working./Ed..

 

Is setting the iPhone to forget the wifi network the same as re-setting the network settings?  Or rather, does it have the same result?  I have re-set the network settings several times, always getting the message, "unable to join the network," but I haven't set my local WiFi again since it's working with everything else. 
 
I guess it would be easy enough to just turn off the router and turn it back on to see if the iPhone would connect.  The other idea I have had is to reset the iPhone and restore with a backup.

Have you set your iPhone to FORGET your wiFi network,  then rebooted…and set up your local WiFi all over again?

I'm having the same problem with my iPhone.  The iPads, my Kindle, and my husband's iPhone and iPad have no trouble whatsoever with our WiFi connection, but my iPhone 5, even after asking for (and getting!) the password, just won't connect to our router or extender.  It says, Unable to Connect.  Dismiss.  I have reset the network and restarted the device several times, to no avail.  My question now is:  is it worth resetting the iPhone to the factory settings and starting all over from a backup?  Is the WiFi connection likely to work then?  Or is it more likely that the iPhone is somehow defective?  Any thoughts?

Have you tried Settings — General — Reset — Reset Network Settings ?
