I don't find the Targus VersaVue case to be flimsy at all. And even
though it doesn't have a zippered closure, it does have a substantial
piece of black elastic to hold the case closed so the iPad turns off.
One warning that both my wife and I have learned the hard way -- if you
rotate the iPad so the hinge of the VersaVue case is on the right side
if home button is on the bottom as you face the iPad and then close the
case, the magnets won't turn the iPad off, since they'll be held against
the incorrect side of the iPad. Apple should have thought to put magnet
switches on both sides of the unit so that people could use a magnetic
cover it in whatever manner they wish. Or Targus should have thought to
put magnets inside both edges of the cover so that iPad could be turned
off in either portrait-view orientation (hinge on the right side or the
left side). Either way, the user needs to rotate the iPad so that the
hinge of the cover is on the left in order for the magnets to work, or,
like my wife has done, keep the hinge of the case on the right and use
the power switch to put the iPad to sleep.
