Sorry - neglected to mention I'd set the physical switch to max. With the earphones (blututh) there's no on-screen volume control in youtube (just checked :0)

What about the volume buttons on the side of the iPhone/iPad?Also if you make the YouTube app full screen, then touch the screen, the on-screen volume is on the bottom of the screen. Just slide your finger to the right to turn it up. Left to turn it down.I use these all the time.

Just watched a youtube video in a noisy restaurant (with earphones, of course :0). Volume was very low - hard to hear. No on-screen volume control. Went to the music app and upped the volume. Much better. But should this detour have been necessary? Was I missing something?
