They realized they made a boo boo, but they couldn't pull it. They had to submit the new version and wait for Apple to approve it. The modified the description on the bad on to helpfully have people not download it. I clicked update all before I saw the message. Apple approved the corrected version and I updated to that as well.

It's interesting because I never read the notes before updating but this time I did. It specifically says not to do the update. Why don't they just pull the update?
