Also, if you bought songs, apps etc on the old PC, de-authorize it and long in on your new PC. Authorize this and go into your 'Purchase history'. You should be able to re-download things for free.
Hopefully, you can in fact, simply copy over from the old computer. *I* actually keep my iTunes on an external drive. It keeps all my stuff I've imported & bought on it. I use that as the "Source drive" for my iTunes library.
