Re: [iPad] OT: Shoulder update

Oh I know what you mean. So far so good. Some of the normal reaches, like trying to turn the faucet on, I find I am leaning my body over the sink and reaching just a bit with the arm. I keep it close to my body when I am walking in a hallway at work.

Went to the doctor on Friday and had more x-rays. All healing well including the fracture. Was able to take the sling off! Woohoo! Can't drive or lift heavy things. LOL Right now can 't even lift a Harry Potter book with just the right hand! Or the iPad ! But is freeing to not have that sling. As each day passes it will get a bit better. I go in Thursday for therapy assessment.

Speaking from experience, it is relatively easy to avoid what was formerly normal routine actions that now would stress the injury site.

But forethought won't keep you from reflexively reaching for the glass that you see falling from the countertop, or some such other unpredictable event.

Voluntarily using the sling during some of the day can prevent some of those oopses.
