Since there are some people that don't care what they say in public over a cell, would someone like that be embarrassed if I overheard them say something like "Are you coming to Mom's funeral?", then after the conversation ended I walk up to the stranger and say "I'm sorry your Mom died."  I bet the person would be angry that I was listening into their conversation.

I don't know but for some reason I tend to talk louder on my cell than on a landline. I think it might be because I am not hearing them on the cell as well. But what amazes me is the privacy some will forfeit. There are many conversations that I hear that I wouldn't want others hearing if it were me and yet this person talks away out in public!

And why is it they have to talk louder when the do talk on the cell phone? I was at Kaiser standing in line to get a prescription the other day, the guy behind me answered his cell phone (which had a loud obnoxious ring) and he tied so loud it made jump and he continued to talk that loud.

I was at the market checking out once, the lady in front of me was talking on the phone,  the checker actually said put the phone away or I will not check you out!

Yes, Jim. For the challenged, Siri is great.  I wasn't talking about that.  For everyone that can quietly sit and type, that's the best.  I don't have to hear them dictating to their iPads.  Same as those talking on the phone.  I don't care to hear their hone conversations.  I can hear an answer of "then don't listen". Ok, that's fine but I'm not getting up from my seat at Starbucks or Panera or wherever and sitting somewhere else to not be disturbed by the person on the phone or dictating emails.  It use to be people were more polite and moved outside if their phone rang.  Before that, their phones were on vibrate.

Hubby doesn't know what I'm typing because I'm not talking to my computer. I like it that way. I've never understood why normal everyday people would rather talk to their devices, letting everyone hear what they're saying vs quietly typing away.
