Not necessarily. You could plug in the American socket into the three prong adapter and you should be okay - the iPad comes also with a large plug, that has the converter in it. You would need the Apple world adapter kit, but there's no point in spending that kind of money if you do not need to do so.
Does your United Kingdom electrical adapter have a American socket on the other side? If so, you should be able to just plug it directly into the adapter and that into the United Kingdom wall socket, or "mains"" as they call it there.

I know this is crazy but I can not figure it out.

I have a 3 pin adapter but I do not know how to connect my things to it (iPad, iPod, android phone. Could some save me by sending me a picture of how to connect to the 3 pin adapter?
This 3 pin adapter came with some electronic but they should be universal correct?
