Re: [iPad] Apple's operating systems: Fortresses or prisons?

I think for the native or uninformed users, this is a tolerable situation to exist in. For these people, the benefits outweigh the sacrifices.

For the informed, this setup can be more painful.

If you don't know about what is on the other side of the wall or have no interest in it, this ecosystem can satisfy.  For those of us that have tasted freedom, the Apple Koolaid can taste a little bitter.

This is the phrasing and word choice of a troll, who doesn't really like Apple, but wants people to think he does.

But that does NOT describe YOU, Carl.

Since you have tasted "Freedom!" (sorry: that's Braveheart breaking through), tell us: why it is that you drink the Koolaid anyway?

I think the masses of people will not object to the Apple system as it is. The others have two choices: break free completely or stay and Jailbreak and enjoy the accommodation with alterations.

I'm not among those masses, but I coose the third path: buy Apple equipment because it serves my needs better than any alternative that I can afford, and accept the rules that come with that decision.

There are clearly some of the masses that are happy with the Apple ecosystem, but there are also masses who want it their way. Just as there are old Apple farts who want more freedom, and others who are willing to let Apple curate.

There may well be some defining characteristic that differentiates the satisfied from the dissatisfied, but level of experience ain't it.
