But I do have a lot of low end and high end needs and unique needs and
while people may think I am 'spoiled' or 'excessive' or should use a
different device I actually base my comments of what I want on new
models and devices on real situations. I know what my laptop is best
at and I know what the iPad is best at, but in many cases small
changes from Apple for the iPad would benefit people who do certain
tasks and no one would have to use it. I do find many of my needs that
people say 'No one needs that but you' for last 2 decades MANY people
use all the time now and its standard issue, or they find other uses.
Mouse support for someone who TeamViewers into some mouse heavy app -
Photoshop, Paint, etc. will be able to use their iPad and keep their
laptop closed and unused. The iPad and Apple
For example mouse support. I remote into work briefly with
RemoteDeskTop on my laptop or my son's PC in Tokyo with TeamViewer,
and I tend to need a mouse kind of use, because the target environment
is a windows PC.
=> I prefer my finger in 99% of situations I LOVE TOUCH <=
but if I want to not have to boot or use my laptop when my boss or
co-worker needs me to make a quick change on SQLServer/Vstudio on my
desktop at work, and I am at a hotel or vegging in front of TV I just
want to quickly hit my machine at work from iPad, mouse around type a
few things on desktop from my iPad. My boss is happy I responded
timely, and I can go back to having fun at hotel or vegging at TV or
cuddling with GF secure that my co-workers got the programming
solution only I could implement promptly and do not mind I am away
from work or wait a few days.
And when I travel to Hotel with GF and son Skypes and TeamViewers me
at 7:50am (10pm Tokyo time), and my GF wants to sleep in I want to
carry my iPad to hotel lobby before the Skype rings and wakes her up.
An iPad with a better camera than current one (my daughter and son
like to see Dad's face) not carrying laptop to lobby (which wakes her
up as I pack into case, etc.) plug in laptop + USB mouse + external
keyboard (not a big fan of my laptop keyboard use USB keyboard) and
find a plug because battery drains fast on laptop. Yes I like to
vacation on weekends but I have kids, a Mom, Aunt and people who have
computer issues I may TeamViewer in to fix. The iPad 2/3 with mouse
support would be a dream would not even bring laptop in those
situations if mouse support was built-in.
This is all technically possible. Mouse support is possible and I
should not be forced to use a way overpowered laptop (Nuclear Bomb to
swat a fly). The iPad can control my Desktop fine with touch but a
mouse would feel faster and better when manipulating my Win Desktop or
Son's Desktop in Tokyo.
[iPad] NEED FOR MOUSE + Better Video Camera! Sorry if I was curt or rude on iPad 3 thread
